Dear readers, for those who always follow and listen to Indonesian media, Hambalang is no strange at all. It implies a great political catastrophy involving some leading figures in the country. However, Hambalang is also more than those, offering great things to explore for escaping busy routinity. Take this one for example. In second week of November happening occurring yesterday, an endurance event was held in the form of more-than-just-offroad in Hambalang hill, Hambalang, Sentul. It was Tabloid Otomotif who organized the event naming it X-Race or Extreeme Ride Adventure Challenge . . .

the event took place in Hambalang hill Sentul starting from last Friday, Nov 8 to Sunday evening on Nov 10, 2013. Motoupdate | tmcblog was glad given a chance to witness the event at its first time on Sunday. By plan, activities involved only watching and covering the event, X-Race. When it became very intense urging us to climb up the hill, coincidently, Mr Eko Prabowo offered the chance to also join the participants, getting into this more than just offroad activity . . . no excuse to give to refuse the join, motoupdate | tmcblog finally joined.

The event was fully supported by Yamaha . . . and after carefully reviewing the event you then could say that was so-Yamaha event, involving only two classe to race with including X-Ride class and dan Common Yamaha class for individuals and teams. a team consisted of 3 starters and 3 bikes. Last friday saw scrutineering phase begin taking place in Parking Areas in Lower part of Sentul Sirkuit, followed by the kickoff of offroad class with Yamaha’s X-Ride to ride offride to enjoy extreme terrain of Hambalang hill.

fyi, according to SC’s data, those participating X-Race was limited to only 100 teams, meaning there were 300 starters/bikers in total number. The figure was even reduced to around 40 participants in second day on Sunday . . they raced for the grand prize of 1 unit Toyota Etios valco JX and other prizes including Yamaha Force Sporty. The terrain has been very variable, with most notable ones involving unfinished concrete structures. the muddy lines was well known to offroad enthusiasts with a certainty that those were still uncommon paths, leading you name it Off road for sure he he he it was alternatively changing paths, from on roads, clays, gravels, to ditch-like paths, completing the unimagined journey

While saying is easy to convince, hands-on is required to prove it. So when motoupdate | TMCBlog himself started the engine, sat on the saddle and ran on it, it was true like it had been told, nothing like myths . . . tmcblog sat on a bore-up Yamaha X-Ride with a set of offroad tyres front and rear. First handicap had been encountered when arriving at Parung Ponteng basecamp as post 1 to tackle down time trial path . . . After escaping the path another obstacle showed itself when a lagoon was presented and sucking in the scooter’s 14-inch tyres, carried on by climbing up the steep, slippery slope. Because TMCBlog was with Gilamotor and Otospeed journalists, courage was increased and three of us immediately dived into the lagoon, and came to surface for climbing up….. however due to limited power the scooter has, we unsuccessfully made it, being helped with tow and push . . .

Next terrains were no easier at all . . . after time trial had finished, Country Road was the next challenge taking up to 15 km tackling down rolling paths, wrecked clay, gravel paths, riding up the steep rocky hills, making those called vehicle-destructing paths because basically no hotmix, containing larger-than-gravel materials, shrubs, and even involving river-navigating . . .

jatoh
Many things happened when we had ridden into the inland of Hambalang hill taking up to 15 kms in a cross country way, starting from parung ponteng to sentul go-kart circuit . . .we once had been lost, we fell off the bike because it had hit rocks . . . the bike was not so damaged but the riders fell down, causing us to have hip pain . . .ultimately when we got home, we were more like those school boys falling into ditches with muddy everywhere on our bodies, for myself that was a another brand new experience motoupdate  has had, making a real offroad riding with two wheel scooter . . . hopefully it didnt become addict to me . . . after all, additionally, the event held by the media and Yamaha Indonesia was a great success.

  1. IMHO, YIMM want to prove X-Ride can be a “real dirt bike”. Actually, X-Ride is same as Mio J. But I like its design, if I have to buy a scooter the options is X-Ride or Beat FI.

  2. X-matic scooter is not a real dirt bike.
    but it is a toy,
tapi kalo buat seneng2 ya oke juga. bisa begajulan di jalan makadam.
    the 2nd option for beginner/woman

  3. I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog
and was wondering what all is required to get set up?
I’m assuming having a blog like yours would
cost a pretty penny? I’m not very web smart so I’m not
100% positive. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Appreciate it

  4. Hey I know this is off topic but I was wondering if you knew of any
widgets I could add to my blog that automatically
tweet my newest twitter updates. I’ve been looking for a
plug-in like this for quite some time and was hoping maybe you would
have some experience with something like this.
Please let me know if you run into anything.
I truly enjoy reading your blog and I look forward to your new updates.
